Losing a loved one is one of the most painful events for any human being, especially when the person who dies is someone very young who is just beginning to live. This was precisely what happened to the Mexican actress Marlene Favela, who suffered the loss of her younger sister, Débora, when she was just 18 years old.

Although for a long time it was difficult for her to speak publicly about what had happened since the pain caused by remembering that sad episode in her life was very strong, the protagonist of successful soap operas such as Wild Cat and The Fox, the Sword and the Rose recently opened her Heart in an interview for the Hoy program and told for the first time how he experienced this loss.

"I hardly ever talk it […] right now I can talk a little more but it was something that shook my family and me," said the Mexican star.

The 42-year-old interpreter revealed that her sister died of cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease that causes life-threatening lung infections.

“They told us that she was 8 years old when she was diagnosed with the disease -at three years old- and my mom and my whole family did everything possible, they went to live far away to another country to take care of her and we extended her life for a long time. We did the impossible. We would have taken it to the end of the world,”acknowledged Favela, who has nearly 4 million followers on Instagram alone.

The actress assured that she never saw a mother as devoted to her daughter as hers.

"She spent day and night in the hospital taking care of her," she recalled visibly excited.

And he revealed the great teaching that his sister's early departure left him.

"It leaves us the love of life and the power to understand that someone has a different condition than yours and to be respectful of that, I think that is the most beautiful thing you can learn," he concluded.
