And it seems that we are in the era of boycotts thanks to the fact that social networks have become the perfect platform to expose any discontent with the government, the authorities or with some prestigious brand. This time it was none other than Nike. The brand has just launched its new campaign and the person they chose has many upset and willing to go to the last consequences to let them know that they had a very bad idea.

It turns out that for his new campaign, the well-known sports brand chose footballer Colin Kaepernick, precisely the athlete who started the protest by kneeling down while singing the national anthem at games. Recall that the player began to kneel at that important moment to protest against police brutality towards black people. This inspired other players to do the same which caused a great controversy in which even President Donald Trump was involved.

Many people branded him as disrespectful for not standing up in that patriotic moment, and now they are trying to boycott Nike by burning their tennis shoes and other products.

Many have even published the videos and uploaded the photos in which they undo the products or burn them.

In the new Just Do It campaign, Kaepernick's face appears with the message, "Believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything else." Although the athlete was already a brand ambassador, his contract, which was about to expire, was renewed for several more years.

Although some fans of the brand came out in their defense and suggested to people who were burning their sneakers that they better donate them to veterans in need, Reuters reported, the company's shares fell 2.1%.

Now we just have to wait what Nike thinks and if he decides to continue working with the athlete in future campaigns.
