How many times do they use emojis in their messages?
We use them to express what we do, eat, what we want and above all, how we feel. However, if we pay attention to the keyboard of these nice icons, we realize that despite allowing the skin tone of people to vary, regarding hair there is only one model: straight hair.
To end this situation and after conducting a study that states that 82% of women would like to see more options that represent them among female emojis, Dove has created the Love your curls keyboard, which includes women with different types of curly hair, from soft waves to afro style, in different lengths and colors.
In addition to the launch of this keyboard, available for free in the App Store and Google Play starting today and part of its Love your curls campaign, Dove has made an agreement with Twitter so that every time someone uses the hashtag #LoveYourCurls, one of the curly-haired emojis will appear.
In the era of social media and technology, 67% of women and girls say that emojis allow them to express themselves better than words, and 70% say that when they talk about their emotions in writing, they want to use an image that look like them. That is why it is striking that curly-haired women - 1 in 3 in the United States - did not have a representation in this new virtual language until today.
