Police authorities in Texas are investigating a possible connection between a suicide and the murder of a woman and her son in that state.
Through a statement, authorities indicated that law enforcement officers arrived at Richard Logan's home to notify his wife Diana Logan that her husband had committed suicide outside of a company about 200 miles from his home. When knocking on the door of the Logan house in Sugar Land, TX, the officers did not receive a response, so they spoke to a neighbor who had a key to enter the home. Once inside, officers found the 48-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son dead. Apparently they had both been hit by bullets.
At the moment, officials have not said much more about the deaths - which are still under investigation - but believe they may be related to Richard Logan's suicide.
"It is always a tragedy when you have a death - specifically from a young man," police chief Eric Robins told KHOU. "We will do everything we can to protect the integrity of this investigation and conduct an appropriate investigation."
According to media reports, Richard Logan was a youth pastor at a church in Richmond, Texas, and had founded a nonprofit organization that helps low-income people. The organization, through its website, ruled on the case. "The Attack Poverty family is in shock after learning of the tragedy involving our CEO Richard Logan and his family," says the message.
