Many are unaware that Mauricio Islas was a victim of bullying during his childhood, which took him a decade of therapy to heal emotional damage. Given this, the actor is now fighting to help those who have suffered this type of abuse through his foundation.

"Life has given me an appointment and a number of things where you have to let people know how you deal with those (depression) events," he said.

For this actor it is important at a particular level to carry out social campaigns; for this reason, he has been involved in various causes with such diligence, that they already earned him an Honoris Causa doctorate in the United States.

While continuing his altruistic work, the protagonist of El Capo tries new challenges in the field of acting, by entering the comedy genre thanks to his participation in the series The Man of Your Dreams, which premiered last week in various countries through a pay television service.

"I had not done comedy on television, nor had I done a project like El Capo, so there are two projects flying internationally," he concluded.
