The Spanish singer-songwriter Joaquín Sabina is rained by messages of support on social networks after the spectacular fall during a concert in Madrid that forced him to undergo an emergency operation.
Sabina, 71, was about to sing one of her songs on Wednesday night on the stage of the WiZink Center in the Spanish capital when she suddenly fell from just under two meters high, several Spanish media reported.
According to the newspaper El País, the artist had not realized that he was standing right on the edge of the tables. There he lost his footing and fell into the security pit between the stage and the front rows of the audience, to the dismay of the 12,000 attendees who were left in shock.
Celebrities such as Pablo Alborán, Alejandro Sanz and Jorge Drexler joined the singer's fans in wishing the interpreter of "And they gave us 10" a speedy recovery.

The fall caused clots in his brain, as well as fractures in his left shoulder and chest.
The medical report released to the Spanish press indicates that the operation to which the singer was subjected was performed "to evacuate an intracranial hematoma in the right hemisphere." The same concluded successfully and that this is under observation at the Ruber International hospital in Madrid.

After his fall, Sabina was pulled from the dais in a wheelchair and tried to calm the audience by joking. "These things only happen in Madrid." Those present shouted at the top of their voices: "We love you!"
