Mother Abandoned Her Daughter In The Supermarket

A mother who abandoned her 2-year-old daughter at the supermarket this Sunday was arrested after a bank teller recognized her after the human hunt that triggered her act in California.

The 31-year-old woman, named Chiengkham Vilaysane, left her little daughter adrift at the Food 4 Less supermarket in the town of Riverside and was caught by security cameras, whose recordings were later used for her search.

In the video, published by the Riverside Police Department, it is revealed that around 5:55 pm, the police responded to a call from an abandoned child at the aforementioned 4250 Van Buren Boulevard location, determining that the minor had been abandoned.

According to detective Paul Miranda, the woman, who is also called “Cindy,” entered the store with her little daughter, who at some point lost sight of her without bothering to look for her and continue shopping, alone.

According to witnesses, a woman realized that the girl was alone and caught the mother's attention, who replied: "Oh, just leave her alone." Then the woman went to pay the cashier and left.

Detective Miranda assures that "he had never seen anything like this" and that this act "really touched a nerve" in the public, which was vital in locating the woman.
