The spectacular feather cape worn by Jennifer Lopez with the Puerto Rican flag on one side and the United States flag on the other left everyone speechless during her spectacular performance at Super Bowl LIV.

Those who have been left with nothing but are not pleased are the PETA activists. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the world's largest animal rights organization - and with more than 6.5 million members and supporters, according to its official website - has uploaded to networks against the 50-year-old Bronx-born artist for her flamboyant garment.

"This flag could have flown without killing birds," he said in a tweet to the official account of the organization based in Norfolk, Virginia. "They KILLED dozens of birds for this presentation [of the] #SuperBowl #PepsiHalfTime."

The post featured a picture of the diva on stage next to her daughter Emme. Next to it is a photo of dead birds hanging in a processing plant next to some workers. The birds appear with their fur uncovered, devoid of feathers.

This is not the first time that PETA has charged the actress, producer and singer. Last September the organization sent an open letter to J. Lo to protest the coat she wore for one of the scenes from her Hustlers (2019) tape.

"They killed up to 18 foxes to make Jennifer López's coat and many more have died to [make] their red carpet outfits," said Lisa Lange, PETA Vice President in the letter. "She is too beautiful to wear something ugly and PETA is choosing to use synthetic [fur] because kindness doesn't cost anything," she said with a certain acid humor to paraphrase J. Lo in her classic song "Love Don't Cost a Thing”(2011). Oops.
